Sony FX6 wildlife test footage with 200-600mm and 70-300mm lenses (4K)

Doug Jensen's WILDLIFE CINEMATOGRAPHY MASTER CLASS is now available: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/wildlifevideo Chapter 27: "Firmware 2.0 Updates" of Doug Jensen's 8-hour FX6 Master Class is now available as a stand-alone rental. https://vimeo.com/ondemand/fx6update I shot this wildlife footage last Sunday evening at Wachusett Meadow Farm in Princeton, Massachusetts. The purpose was to test two telephoto lenses that Sony loaned me for a few days to use with my FX6 camera to see if either one would be suitable for wildlife shooting. I got enough footage at the farm that I decided to cut together a short highlights montage. Lenses used: Sony FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS I also used my Sony FE 2.0x teleconverter for some shots to transform the 200-600mm into a 400-1200mm f/11. Some of the birds I was shooting were quite small and having a 1200mm lens enabled me to get some nice close-ups that would have otherwise been impossible. Both lenses performed very well and produced sharp, clear images. However, I definitely preferred the longer 200-600mm lens for this type of small wildlife. If I had been shooting larger animals, such as deer, elk, or moose, I'm sure the 70-300 would have been okay. Based on this testing I will be purchasing a 200-600mm lens soon. For about $2000 it is a hell of a bargain. All of this footage was shot using Sony's S-Cinetone profile as the base-look, and then graded in DaVinci Resolve Studio. As I talk about in my FX6 Master Class, I don't think S-Cinetone is good enough to use straight out of the camera without some grading in post, especially when you're shooting outdoors. I used my Sachtler Aktiv8 tripod and Flowtech75 legs.
