Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make Lumpiang Shanghai . Ingredients: - 50 pieces Spring roll wrapper - 3 cups cooking oil - Filling ingredients: - 500g Chicken mince - 1 medium onion (minced) - Garlic (minced) - Cabbage (minced) - Carrots (minced) - 1 tbsp Chicken powder - 1/2 tsp salt - 1 tsp ground black pepper - 1 medium egg - 1/4 cup plain flour Instructions: 1. Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, combine the chicken mince, onion, garlic, cabbage, carrots, chicken powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are well incorporated. 2. Add the egg and flour: Add the beaten egg and plain flour to the bowl and mix until the filling is well combined. 3. Lay out the spring roll wrapper: Place a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface with one corner pointing towards you. 4. Add the filling: Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the filling in the center of the wrapper. 5. Fold the wrapper: Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up the wrapper to form a tight cylinder. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling. 6. Fry the spring rolls: Heat the cooking oil in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer to 350°F (180°C). When the oil is hot, add a few of the spring rolls (do not overcrowd the pan) and fry until they are golden brown and crispy. 7. Drain and serve: Remove the spring rolls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Note: You can also bake the spring rolls in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown. I hope this helps! Enjoy your delicious Lumpiang Shanghai.
