Beautiful Isle of Skye: Best Accommodations, where to Dine

While researching for our trip, I noticed that there really weren't a lot of options on the Isle of Skye. So  @mrs.karnesandme9708  decided to do a hotel review of the place we choses to stay. I will say that we were VERY pleased with the hotel and all it had to offer. We stayed two nights and had dinner and breakfast at the hotel each day. Our room was a King Premiere Sea View. It was very clean, comfortable and the view was amazing! The added charge for sea view is worth every penny! From the moment you arrive, you cannot fail to appreciate the Highland setting of the hotel. It is a 15 acre property that overlooks Portree. The views include the Sound of Raasay and the Cuillin mountain range. The bedrooms of the Cuillin Hills Hotel blend tradition with modern simplicity. Each room is different, elegant and cozy. The hotel has 39 rooms of varying price points and sizes. There is complimentary parking and plenty of it, a concierge, a bar- Malt Embassy Bar, a lounge, 24 hour reception, private garden and free wi-fi. We also were able to have our laundry done while staying here. We stayed in a Premier Collection King Room with a Sea View. This tier of rooms is larger than a standard with a level of comfort, finish, and thought that is of a different class. One of the BEST features of our room was the view! The view was beyond idyllic. We did have breakfast and dinner each day at the hotel. The restaurant, The View" offers diners one of the best views of Skye while enjoying high quality local Scottish produce and seafood. it was friendly, relaxed and excellent value! The Drawing Room (lounge) is a place to be inspired. The walls shimmer in burnished copper, with scarlet floral motifs. A modern interpretation of tweed is re-enacted on a red Axminster Carpet. The Drawing Room is open throughout the day but was the perfect after dinner spot! The Malt Whiskey Embassy has over 130 malt and grain whiskies to try! These malts cover all the main whiskey producing regions of Scotland and range from well known distilleries to some very exclusive and rare. They also offer coffee, tea and soft drinks. The Cuillin Hills Hotel is a family run business and offers a great guest experience. While staying at the hotel we explored Portree and visited the famous fish and chip shop on the waterfront. Even in the rain, this was an experience that I would highly recommend! The fish was fresh caught and fresh prepared. We ate it in a doorway just steps from the shop! It was a fun experience! The cute little shops in Portree were delightful and everyone we met was so nice and friendly! We had a wonderful time on the Isle of Skye and are so happy that you watched part of this adventure.
