Rolleiflex SLX and SLX2 Demo and Detailed Review

The amazing SLX family of Rolleiflex cameras has been neglected for too long. These cameras deserves their own detailed review and hands-on demonstration. Music track: Enlivening by Pufino Source: https://freetouse.com/music Royalty Free Music for Videos (Safe) These cameras could have been a formidable competitor to Hasselblad V series in an alternative universe. Here we cover Rolleiflex SLX, SLX2, 3 lenses and many accessories. As it turned out Rolleiflex stuck to the TLR model for too long, allowing the competitors to completely capture the medium format market. These cameras, sadly did not even reach the digital age. That would have been amazing! The Rolleiflex SLX being demonstrated is my own 4th camera, (starting from the middle of the last century) after Agfa Billy, Rollei 35 and Contax RTS. It is still my default medium format camera. If you are interested to know, my daily 35mm camera is Nikon FM2n. These are cameras which can be bought for a fraction of the price of the more popular medium format cameras but provide the same quality of pictures and advanced features as the best of the best. We provide many tips and tricks including how to fix some of the common issues with these cameras. The hard core fans can also watch our separate video on how to restore these cameras even after substantial damage to some parts. This video was originally part of a comparison between Hasselblad C500 and Rolleiflex SLX. That was probably not an entirely fair or entirely valid comparison. So, it has now been separated and expanded in this video. If you are interested in this content as well as comparison with the Hasselblad 500C, it is still available in a more compact and snappy version and due to popular request, without music. If you find any inaccuracies in this video, please point out in the comments so we can record them right here in the descriptions. Correction 1: The 40mm lens is actually f4 not f1.4 Who am I? I am nobody. I'm not important. There is no self-promotion and you will never see me in these videos. The stars are the products of human innovation that we preserve and demonstrate. That's all. I reply to each and every comment with thoughtful, considered answers. Tech Heritage Museum
