New 8 purple orb route, sacrificing Air Hike in the process. Alternative strats had to be developed in order to deal with that, and most of them seem to be on par or even better than not having Air Hike at all. Most importantly, earlier purple orb purchases mean you have a lot more wiggle room with strats in certain rooms, or even allowing for new strats, like lighting up the dial on Nightmare 3 with Vortex, saving 2 seconds. With a perfect orb route, you can additionally skip all the backup items after Mission 10. The intermission between M13 and M14 can now be cleared with a straight Vortex to the door and buying a Purple Orb after that to refill your Devil Trigger. Mundus is now a pushover, saving 5 seconds guaranteed by skipping on 2 Devil Stars. I'm sure this run is beatable, since I lost quite a bit of time here and there. But it is my WR after a disappointing tournament early exit, so my work is done here.
