展示車両のほぼすべてを走行可能な「動態保存」としていることは、トヨタ博物館の最大の特徴のひとつです。 館内で上映している走行映像の内、販売用DVDに収録されていないものをYouTubeにて公開いたします。 トヨペット SA型乗用車（1951年）について： トヨタの戦後初の乗用車「トヨペットSA」は、日本の道路事情によりふさわしく、アメリカのBIG3と競合しない小型乗用車として開発され、1947年（昭和22年）に発売されました。 1リッタークラスの経済的な小型エンジンの採用を始めとして、流体力学を考慮したボディスタイル、バックボーンフレーム構造や4輪独立懸架など当時としては斬新なメカニズムを多く取り入れ、更にオーナードライバー向けの２ドア車としたことなど、当時のエンジニアの理想を形にしたものと言えます。 しかし販売台数は伸びず、1952年までの5年間に合計215台の生産に留まりました。その理由としては、当時の自動車の需要の大半がトラックだったことや、乗用車の需要はタクシーが中心だったことが挙げられます。 発売するに当たり一般公募で選ばれた「トヨペット」は、トヨタの乗用車の愛称として、その後も多くの人々に親しまれました。 https://toyota-automobile-museum.jp/a... Toyopet Model SA (1951): When Toyota resumed passenger car development after the Second World War, it realized the necessity to develop a compact car, which was suitable for Japanese road conditions and did not compete with the Big Three of General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler. As a result of Toyota’s efforts, the Toyopet Model SA was launched in 1947. It was the first passenger car developed after the war by Toyota. The Model SA adopted a small and frugal 1-liter engine and the styling considering fluid dynamics. It also featured audacious mechanical elements such as a backbone frame and independent four-wheel suspension. Its two-door style was aimed at owner-drivers, and it was designed to be the ideal car for engineers. Unfortunately, the sales of the Model SA didn't grow largely, and only 215 were manufactured in the five years up to 1952.
