She creates multi-dimensional paintings that explore the aesthetics of ancient Persian miniature paintings and their impact on Iranian gender politics. Her works often depict female bodies in shackles with their mouths sewn shut while incorporating visual motifs referencing corrupted political and economic systems. Khosravi has exhibited her artwork in solo and group exhibitions across the US and internationally, and her work is part of several art collections. She has also participated in various artist residencies and received awards and grants, including the Joan Mitchell Foundation’s Painters & Sculptors Grant in 2019 and the Walter Feldman Fellowship in 2017. Philip Hoare is a British writer, artist, filmmaker, and curator. He has written biographies of Stephen Tennant and Noël Coward and won the BBC Samuel Johnson Prize for “The Whale.” His latest book, “Albert & the Whale,” is highly praised. Hoare has directed several films for the BBC and collaborated with John Waters, Pet Shop Boys, and Ellen Gallagher. He co-curated a major exhibition on Derek Jarman and curated two projects, which received millions of hits.
