2011 Ferrari 150° Italia F1 V8 Car: Warm Up, Accelerations & Sound!

Over the past few years, having attended numerous Ferrari F1 Clienti events and a couple of Ferrari's World Finals (Finali Mondiali), I collected many clips of various F1 cars but I forgot to put together entirely dedicated videos to some specific ones. That's the case of the 2011 Ferrari 150° Italia. The car was formerly known as the Ferrari F150, a designation chose to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy happening in 2011, but after its launch in January Ford declared its intention to sue Ferrari over the use of the F150 name, to which Ford owns a trademark. Ferrari so stated the F150 was just an abbreviaton of ''F150th Italia'' and later in March they announced the official name of car was changed to ''Ferrari 150° Italia'' (where 150° is the Italian ordinal numerals form to say 150th). During the season it was driven by Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso. The 150º Italia featured the new technical directives of the 2011 such as the reintroduction of the Kers, after being abandoned for the 2010 season, the presence of the movable rear wing (DRS), the absence of the double diffuser and the F-duct, prohibited by the 2011 rules. The car was born with a lack of downforce which was only partially removed during the season. However, it was able to compensate these deficiencies with mechanical grip, i.e. that provided by the tires in the softer compounds and by the suspensions. The engine under the bonnet is the Tipo 056, 2.4-litre V8 mounted for the first time on the 248 F1, when the new engine technical rules were introduced in 2006, but of course further improved in reliability and consumptions (10% less than in 2010 as the fuel tank's size was reduced in 2011 to make space for Kers). If you remember 2011 was the year famous for the innovative but controversial exhaust-blown diffuser introduced by Red Bull. Ferrari never managed to reach the performance level of Red Bull's blown diffuser because of the Tipo 056 engine which wasn't designed at first for those engine blowing maps, unlike the Renault unit which already used marginally 'blowing' maps for reliability reasons in mid 2000s. Watch a couple of them being driven on track by their current lucky owners during the famous Ferrari's exclusive F1 Clienti track days. Unfortunately (but that's comprehensible) I've never heard blown diffuser engine maps being used during all these events (there's something that reminds me of them just at 12:42). 0:00 Warm Up 2:13 Autodromo Nazionale Monza 8:04 Autodromo di Imola 11:17 Mugello Circuit #Ferrari150Italia #FerrariF1 #F12011 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I have to thank my friends and youtubers ‪@davide458italia‬ and ‪@Italiansupercarvideo‬ for the great collaboration done during some of these events.
