What's not as well known, is that he has his own project, Phil X & The Drills, which is basically himself, Daniel Spree on bass, and a long list of stand-in drummers ranging the A-list of contemporary rock and session poundsters. There's an alternate universe out there where I sit among them, my dream of being a session/touring musician a reality. Although touched on the fringes in this universe, but not fully realized yet, I'm encouraged by the challenge of learning a new song quickly and "giving it a go". This is one such excursion...
