My Space Story | Alyssa Carson | TEDxIITKharagpur

At some point in our life, we have stared at the stars and wondered about the world beyond our planet. Humans planted their flag on the Moon in 1969 but that is just a minuscule part of what stories lie out there. We have come a long way since then in understanding our Solar System and already have set our eyes on the colonisation of Mars. Join Alyssa Carson, an American Space Scientist and the first person to complete all the NASA space camps in the world, presenting her inspirational talk on herself! “Always follow your dream and don’t let anyone take it from you.” — Alyssa Carson. Alyssa has lived her 19 years on Earth a life which many can only dream of. She is the first person to complete all the NASA Space Camps in the world, including Space Camp Turkey and Space Camp Canada. In January 2013, NASA invited her to be on the MER 10 panel in Washington DC to discuss future missions to Mars live on NASA TV. She was later selected as one of seven ambassadors representing Mars One, a mission to establish a human colony on Mars in 2030. In October of 2016, Alyssa was the youngest to be accepted and graduate the Advanced Possum Academy, officially making her certified to go to space and an astronaut trainee. When she was 18, Carson earned her pilot's license. Her training has also included water survival, g force training, micro gravity flights, obtaining scuba certification, and decompression training. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
