First off, I applaud Jeff Kinney for sticking with this series for this long and continuing as it doesn't look like he plans to stop anytime soon. I too am making a long middle grade series (more inspired by Magic Tree House) so I'm in no way judging DOAWK for going on this long, though my characters are going to age through the series... Would I have traded my DOAWK phase for a Big Nate one? 100%, but I still enjoyed DOAWK when I read it in elementary and middle school. I would also have traded my Hamilton phase for Wicked, Hadestown or Newsies, so DOAWK isn't alone in that lol
