The spa town of Sirmione is located on a 4 km long island that juts out into Lake Lago di Garda and is rightly called the pearl of the lake. You can get to the town via the original drawbridge, which is by the Scaligera castle - Rocca Scaligiera from the 13th century. It is surrounded by a castle moat. Behind the castle is the entrance to the town, which is interspersed with narrow streets, each of which you can walk to the shore of the lake. Boats depart from the local port to nearby resorts and for a drive around the peninsula. The picturesque town of Sirmione is located in northern Italy, in the region of Lombardy, which is rightly considered one of the most beautiful regions of Italy, specifically in the province of Brescia.
