Having clinched the NFC's No. 1 seed and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs with their 13-3 record, the team tied their previous record in 2005 for the best in franchise history. Seattle's defense, also known at the time as the 'Legion of Boom,' was in full force and is still to this day regarded by many to be among the best ever in NFL history.
