Offshore Fishing North Florida for Kingfish, Sharks, Red Snapper - St. George Island - Carrabelle

Offshore fishing along the North Florida Gulf of Mexico coast with one of my best friends Blake, late spring 2024. Our general area is offshore St. George Island, Carrabelle, and Apalachicola. We target kingfish (king mackerel), black sea bass, red snapper, and more, and deal with sharks at every spot. We get some good shark hookups with real giants, see a hammerhead hit a bait on top and hone in on the boat, and even film a free jumping shark over one of our fishing spots. I also include some neat underwater footage to get an idea of what is swimming around under the boat - and got some close up sharks on camera, mostly bull sharks and sandbar sharks. There has been a lot more conversation recently about whether or not we have a shark overpopulation problem in our waters; I tend to think yes. Over-protecting a top predator has allowed their populations to grow to a problematic level, and in my opinion these populations are taking a real toll on the reef fish populations around our state.
