Castle of the Mazovian Dukes in Czersk - a Gothic castle built at the turn of the 14th and 15th century. In the 14th century, Duke Janusz I of Masovia ordered the construction of a brick castle in the place of an outdated castle, which was built between 1388 and 1410. It was one of the most important residences of Duke Janusz I, who died in the castle on December 8, 1429. When this area was incorporated into the Kingdom of Poland in 1526, the castle became a royal property. During this period, cylindrical towers were built up. During the Swedish Deluge, in 1656, the castle in Czersk suffered a very serious damage. After the defeat from Stefan Czarniecki near Warka, the Swedish army retreated, captured the castle and seriously devastated it. In the years 1762-1766 the starost of the Cherry Grand Marshal Franciszek Bieliński attempted to renovate the castle (then a bridge over the moat was built) in order to place in it a castle and land court from the archives. However, after the Third Partition of Poland and the Prussian invasion of Chersk, the walls were partially demolished. Since then, the castle has been ruined. Did you like it? W XIV wieku książę mazowiecki Janusz I, rozkazał w miejscu przestarzałego grodu zbudować ceglany zamek, który powstał w latach 1388 - 1410. Była to jedna z najważniejszych rezydencji księcia Janusza I, który zmarł na tym zamku w dniu 8 grudnia 1429 roku. Gdy tereny te zostały przyłączone do Królestwa Polskiego w 1526 roku, zamek stał się własnością królewską. W tym też okresie nadbudowano cylindryczne wieże. W czasie Potopu szwedzkiego, w 1656 roku, zamek w Czersku doznał bardzo poważnego uszczerbku. Wojska szwedzkie po doznaniu klęski od Stefana Czarnieckiego pod Warką, wycofując się, opanowały zamek i poważnie go zdewastowały. W latach 1762–1766 starosta czerski marszałek wielki koronny Franciszek Bieliński podjął próbę remontu zamku (wtedy powstał most przez fosę) w celu umieszczenia w nim sądu grodzkiego i ziemskiego z archiwum. Jednak po III rozbiorze Polski i objęciu Czerska przez Prusaków mury zostały częściowo zburzone. Od tego czasu zamek jest zrujnowany.
