The hero stood on the field of battle, his loyal companions beside him. The forces of evil streamed out of the north, their taint spreading throughout the land. One by one, the bastions of freedom and hope collapsed to the great power. As the darkness drew near, and more heroes fell, the hopes of all that is pure and innocent rested on one band of adventurers. Their's was the duty to fight, to protect. To vanquish evil. The prophecy demanded they vanquish the foes of good. And, so they would. After all, who can contest with destiny? For destiny is an unstoppable force, ruling the fate of all, the adventurers included. For this, was no mere destiny. This was the destiny of the chosen. . . It's been awhile since I've done one of these. Hopefully, I'm not out of practice.
