Most students learn how to create a basic monostable timer circuit that outputs a logic high for a fixed duration. The timing interval begins when the trigger pin is pulled low. However, if the trigger period is longer than the timing interval (e.g. someone continues pressing the trigger switch) bad things happen! Watch this video to understand the problem and learn step-by-step how to modify the circuit to work independently of the trigger duration.
