🔽Buy my Peek A Boo Fundamental's Course Here🔽 https://www.loganbrownboxing.com/peek... Peek-a-boo boxing footwork tutorial: How do the Damato shift and the D'amato Shoot. You can practice this at home or at the gym. This is a classic Mike Tyson style Footwork technique that you can incorporate in to your own peek-a-boo boxing style The first Peek A Boo boxing footwork technique is known as the Damato shift. Named after the late, great trainer and inventor of the Peekaboo boxing style Cus D'amato. The D'amato shift is a technique that is used to confuse the enemy, the way it works is while you're engaging with your opponent, you will twist your body and rotate your feet so that your back foot will move to where your front foot is and your front foot will go around to the side of your opponent. If you've done it correctly, you'll whole body will be out to the side of your opponent and you will probably be in a reverse stance, either southpaw or orthodox depending on which side you shifted out to. This is also commonly known as the switch step because you're switching stances. A great example of this peekaboo technique in action was when Mike Tyson knocked out Buster Mathis Jr Tyson shifted out to his left. Mathis for a second was confused as Tyson had just disappeared out of sight. The BOOM he landed 2 right uppercuts and that was it, he was out. The second peekaboo boxing footwork technique is called a shoot. This one is similar to the shift in the fact that it is a technique to get you out to the side of your opponent. But with this one, instead of twisting your body, you're going to push off one of your legs to spring your whole body out to the side of your opponent. The best example of this technique being used is when Mike Tyson fought Don Halpin. He used 2 shoots with the exact technique I explained and he actually did it on both sides, so I definitely recommend going and watching that figh The whole concept of getting out to the side of your opponent is to "Put yourself in a position where you can hit your opponent but he can't hit you. That's what the science of boxing is all about" - Cus D'amato There is a best time and situation to use either the Damato shift or the shoot and I give my opinion on the matter in the video.
