Mauro Refosco is a Brazilian percussionist who recorded and toured the world with the Red Hot Chili Peppers with the "I'm with You" album. They used and experimiented with a lot of minor percussion in basically all of their songs in that album, and this song is the one that shines the most because of it. It inspires me to get out of my comfort zone for a while and play a little bit with the elements of percussion that I grew up with, having been born and raised in Venezuela. I was surrounded by the sounds of salsa, merengue, gaita, etc, so it kinda comes easy for me to play instruments under that influence, even if I haven't studied them before. I really hope you guys like it, I had a lot of fun recording this.
