The New Tradition "Bluegrass Gospel At It's Finest" (1990) complete album

Artist: The New Tradition Title: Bluegrass Gospel At It's Finest Year: 1990 Label: Brentwood Music Source: compact disc The New Tradition was a bluegrass gospel band not to be confused the barber shop quartet with the same name from California but straight out of Tennessee. They arrived at a time when bluegrass gospel was performed primarily by family bands with names like Lewis, Forbes, Marshall and others. They brought a freshness to this sub genre of bluegrass music and gave it a shot of youth and enthusiasm. It's impressive and inspiring that musicians of this caliber would be using their talents to spread the gospel. Each member of this band could've easily made a living in main stream bluegrass bands but they chose the Lord's work for a time. Each member has since went on to have other music careers and have done quite well, most notably Danny Roberts who went on to be a member of the award winning band the Grascals. Songs: 1: Are you washed in the blood 2: Cross your heart 3: Tramp on the street 4: Hear Jerusalem 5: If I could hear my mother pray again 6: Daniel prayed 7: In the garden 8: Who will sing for me 9: The old rugged cross 10: I'll fly away Daryl Mosley: bass, Lead vocal Danny Roberts: mandolin, bass vocal, Lead vocal on 3 & 7. Fred Duggin: guitar, tenor vocal Richie Dodson: banjo, baritone vocal additional musicians: Glenn Duncan: fiddle Gene Wooten: Dobro Jack Jezzro: high strung guitar Produced by Jack Jezzro Executive producer: Ed Kee Recorded at Quad, Nashville Tn.
