Use this play along to practice layered entries and exits - starting with the Bordun, then Ostinato, and Melody joining in. Students can play just the bordun and ostinato, and sing the song instead of playing the melody line. The Ostinato can also be played on descant recorders, as it uses just 2 notes G and E. Bordun and Ostinato parts have lyrics to help students to memorise their pattern. They can learn to sing their part with the lyrics first, then play. Great song for playing in C Pentatonic. Look out for another version of this play along, that leaves gaps for students to improvise with notes of the C Pentatonic scale, and features a recorder part too.
