We start in Colmar, France, the birthplace of each Liebherr Mining excavator. Liebherr was nice enough to have us for a tour years ago, my first glimpse at one of these monster machines. But then, to see one at work, we had to travel down under to Australia, where nearly every 9800 made lives.
