Betrayal has a way of impacting not only how you see yourself and how you see others, but also how much you are likely to trust someone else in the future. If you have been betrayed by family, the ability to trust may be harder. Betrayal trauma can be difficult to overcome because of the psychological, emotional, and behavioral challenges you have to encounter once the betrayal is found out or confirmed.
