Krishna Kalaapam | Bharatanatyam Dance

A Bharatanatyam tribute to the ‘Nightingale of Carnatic music MS Subbulakshmi Krishna Kalaapam is a dance repertoire in praise of Lord Krishna (in his avatars) who played every role with a flair. He is loved immensely by both children and adolescence majorly because he was so caring, sweet, mischievous & happy at the same time and taught how to live in the present moment. This energetic dance performance takes the audience along to immerse in Madhura Bhakti (devotion) and bring in oneness by chanting and dancing along for a Krishna Bhajan, Bruhi Mukundeti. In this typical classical art form ,we have chosen two very famous episodes 'Kalinga Mardhana' and 'Ravana Mardhana' from the two great Epics the Mahabharata and the Ramayana respectively. Mahavishnu took ten avatars or incarnations in order to protect the world through the different yugas.Out of these ten avatars, the Shri Krishna avatar and Shri Rama avatar have gained the most importance, thanks to the emergence of the huge epics, the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. Performed by Subhashree Tyyagarajan and Anvitha Suresh in a remote collaboration. Translation : Whenever and wherever there is a decline in righteousness (adharma) and a rise in irreligion, Oh Bhaarata (descendant of Bharata) I shall present Myself at that time In order to protect the pious and destroy foolish wrongdoers, also to re-establish religion and probity (dharma), I shall incarnate, age after age!
