DJ Brockie & MC Det | Kool FM 94.5 | Jungle Set 1996 | All Roads Lead To The Powerhouse Kool Skool

Artwork by Take Me Back Pirate Radio Archives. This recording is gold-dust and exclusive to this channel. It was recorded on Sunday 30th June 1996, on the night of Kool Skool, at Waterden Rd, Stratford, London E15. The DJ and MC duo rocked the airwaves in preparation for Kool Skool. Kool's listeners/ravers were locked on in their cars as east London saw a roadblock appear due to magnitude of this event, hence the artwork. For the teenagers of that era they locked on getting a snippet of what the vibes would have been like at jungle raves. DJ Brockie was known as the dub plate king. With scores of exclusive VIP mixes. Some of those tracks were never released. MC Det's iconic voice echoed across the airwaves. "Brockie My DJ! Move Your Body! Body!" He was a lively MC. Kool FM rocked the FM dial. It was electric. Out to all the Junglists that remember AWOL, Accelerated Culture, Best of The British, Breakin’ Science, Club Labyrinth, Desert Storm & Jungle Magic, Desire, Elevation, Heat, Helter Skelter, Innersense, Innovation, Jungle Fever (Kool FM), Kool Skool '96(Kool FM), Kool Club, Metalheadz, One Nation, Roast, Stush, Telepathy, Pure Science, Thunder and Joy, True Playaz, United Dance, Jungle Nation, The Designer Label Ball, Warning, World Dance, Dreamscape, Bass Odyssey, Jungle Mania, Jungle Soundclash, Jungle Splash, Jungle Box Of Tricks, plus many more raves near, at and after that era. There were many interesting releases coming out in 1996, it was definitely a time when producers had built tracks for MCs to rinse out and go back to back. Despite the growth of the Intelligent Drum & Bass (later dubbed Liquid Drum & Bass) and Jungle Jazz movement, 1996 saw the boom of Jump Up Jungle with the proliferation of many record labels in the lead up. Shouts out to, Philly Blunt Records, V Recordings, Joker Records, Congo Natty, Dread Recordings, Dope Dragon Records, True Playaz, Ganja Records, Frontline Records, Ebony Records, Metalheadz, Tearin Vinyl, Urban Takeover, Ram Records, Suburban Base Records, Fresh Kutt Records, Third Eye Records, Flex Records, A-Ko Recordings, Aphrodite Recordings, Back 2 Basics Recordings, Formation Records, Chronic, Collusion Records, Juice Records, Full Cycle Records, Macca Records, Moving Shadow label, No Smoking Records, Proper Talent Records, Renegade Recordings, Riddim Track Records, Strictly Underground Records, 5HQ Recordings, 31 Records, Tech Itch Recordings, Creative Source label, Homegrown Records, Brain Records, Dee Jay Recordings, Dollar Records, Awesome Records, Breakthrough Records, Rugged Vinyl Records, Kickin' Underground Sound label, White House Records, Legend Records, Future Vinyl label, Active Records, Bear Necessities label, Quayside Records, Third Eye Records, Kemet label, Grand Larceny label, Creative Wax label, Skanna label, Metamorphosis Records Inc, Knowledge & Wisdom Records, Good Looking Records, Reinforced Records, Joker Records, Liftin' Spirit Records, Phat Trax label, Chronic Label (V Recordings), A Level Records, Prototype Recordings, New Identity Recordings, Hot Steppers Label, Audio Maze Records, Splash Recordings, Juice Box Records, Rude & Deadly Records, Runninz Records, Renegade Hardware label, Timeless Recordings, No U Turn Records, Easy Records, C.I.A.
