Today I had an interesting aerotow in quite strong rotor. I was reminded of one of the resons why I should strap myself down firmly, as I hit the canopy twice with my head. Once relased I hit the stable air of the lee wave. It easily took the glider up to the maximum allowed altitude without O2 of 11500ft. At this altitude, the effective O2 level is only 13.5%.
