Whether in business or the film industry, women are faced with gender-based disparities across the board. In the Special Session 'Bridging the Gap', 5 accomplished women share their perspectives on gender equality and explore the role and power of media to enhance and/or reduce the gender gap. The panel is composed of female leaders Beth Comstock- Vice Chair at GE, Michelle Phan- entrepreneur, Meghan Markle- actress, Maya Sanbar- film director and activist and Sabine Chalmers- Chief Legal & Corporate Affairs Officer at Anheuser-Busch InBev. Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, shares a video message with the One Young World audience. Among several of the powerful comments, Meghan Markle, reveals that she vowed not to film scenes in a towel and encourages women in the industry to champion gender equality. She, along with the rest of the panel, assert that men must be active in promoting egalitarianism. The 'Bridging the Gap' Special Session took place at the One Young World 2014 Summit in Dublin.
