After learning that a stranger has been accidentally killed near their rural homes, four Oregon boys decide to go see the body. Stand by Me is a 1986 American coming-of-age comedy-drama adventure film directed by Rob Reiner and based on Stephen King's 1982 novella The Body, with a title derived from Ben E. King's song. The film stars Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Jerry O'Connell and Kiefer Sutherland. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and two Golden Globe Awards: one for Best Drama Motion Picture and one for Best Director.
