With a love for record culture, Emanuel finds travelling to different parts of the world in search of records and chatting with record shop owners the most fulfilling part of collecting. The memories of finding a record make them so unique in his collection.  “This selection is dedicated to all of the wonderful people I met along the way collecting these records. Most of the tracks were found during a six week-long trip I took to Cuba earlier this year, alongside some great South American and Latin influenced tracks. After finding out that most record shops were shut in Cuba, and that any leads for records online were long expired, it took to simply asking around. The overwhelming answer was no, but on one occasion a mechanic in Havana handed me a small piece of paper with an address and a number. After contacting the number, a Cuban couple allowed me into their home to look through their collection for 12 hours over the course of two days. Spanning from traditional Cuban salsa to more experimental jazz and funk, their collection had all the Areito releases you could wish for. We listened together for hours. I picked up some truly incredible records that I’ll cherish forever, not just because of the records themselves but because of the memory associated with finding them.
