The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has opposed the Uniform Civil Code and decided that it will boycott the Law Commission’s questionnaire where it has sought suggestions from the citizens of India to bring in the Uniform Civil Code. Claiming that they were voicing the concerns of all communities, the AIMPLB stated that one common law to guide all will “harm” the unity of the nation. In light of the Uniform Civil Code, Sanjay Pinto, Advocate & Journalist, said, “When the govt is tweaking any religious law, it’s important to get the community along.
