Partisan's Song | In 39 Languages

“Partisan’s Song” is a popular Red Army song from the Russian Civil War. The latest version of the song was written by Pyotr Parfyonov after the Battle of Volochayevka in 1922. This song was originally dedicated to the Siberian Riflemen of the White Army with the poem "From the Taiga, the deep Taiga", written in 1915 by Vladimir Gilyarovsky, during the climax of World War I. Nevertheless, because of its popularity, the Soviet partisans had adopted a communist version of it, and as of now, it is being known as one of the most famous communist/socialist songs of all time. Its alternative English names are “March of the Siberian Riflemen” and “Through valleys and over hills” (Russian: По долинам и по взгорьям/Po dolinam i po vzgoriam; Serbo-Croatian: По шумама и горама/Po šumama i gorama).
