5 Club and Country Rebuilds You Need To Try!

We’ve all rebuilt a football club on FIFA. It’s simple, sell the older players, buy younger high potential players and develop them. However, why stop there. Why not try to develop an entire nation. There's quite a few minor nations out there that have had success in the past, this gives you a target to try to recreate on FIFA. It makes it easier if you can become manager of the national team as well as a team that plays in that nation, but for some of the examples in this video that isn't possible on FIFA 23. The goal is to try to rebuild your nation to be better than they managed in the past, while also rebuilding your club with players from that nation. For example you might try to rebuild Holland, where your target would be to get their first ever World Cup, but also try to build up a team like Feyernoord with entirely Dutch players, to see if you can also win the Champions League. The combination of managing a club and a country means you can focus on up to 5 different competitions, depending on the nation you pick. A few examples of nations that were surprisingly successful for their size for short periods include: The Mighty Magyars - Hungary & Ferencvarosi. The original European giants, infact In 1953 they were the world's number one ranked team Between 1950 and 1956, the team recorded 42 victories, 7 draws and just one defeat, in the 1954 World Cup final against West Germany. Under the Elo rating system they achieved the highest rating ever recorded by a national side (2230 points, 30 June 1954). Take over Ferencvarosi, put them in a different league (maybe Austria) and try to rebuild their squad with entirely Hungarian players. Republic of Ireland & Cork City. Ireland were ranked as the 9th best nation in the world in 1994, reaching the Quarter Finals of the 1990 World Cup & beating WC Holders Italy in 1994 World Cup. Ireland were always teased for having mostly English accents, as most of the players werent born in Ireland. Try to poach as many young Irish player from the English leagues, while also filling your youth squad with local born Irishmen. Try to reach at least the Semi of the World Cup, while also seeing if you can get to the knockout rounds of the Champions League. Before their golden generation, Belgium did not Qualify for a single tournament from 2002 to 2012. Kompany, De Bruyne, Hazard & Lukaku etc all came through at similar ages and suddenly Belgium were the worlds highest ranking nation from 2015 until 2018. The high point of the Golden Generation was finishing 3rd in the 2018 World Cup. You’ll be taking over any Belgian side, trying to sign as many as the golden oldies to mentor your young side, and force through a second generation. By signing older Belgians such as Witsel, Mertens or Fellaini, you have a solid platform of successful local born players. Get the best youth scouts you can afford, and see if you can fill a national team with the quality to finally win the World Cup. A few other suggestions that are harder could include Uruguay, who were ranked the Second best team by Elo rankings for 1930, and won 2 world cups and 2 olympic gold medals in the 1930s. See if you can add a third World cup by rebuilding an Argentinan squad with entirely Uruguayan players. Denmark Won Euro 1992, see if you can rebuild Copenhagen with a generation that can win the World Cup in 2026 or 2030. No matter the idea or team you go for, you’re going to want to focus on picking up young players and of course pumping the best possible scouts into that nation to get some high potential youth, and then you’ll need to give them as much time as possible so they get to the standard you need them at. Rough estimate ratings are a team of 85 rated players are WC Final level, 80 rated should be getting to the WC group stages, and 75 rated would be lucky to get out the group. Once you’ve done a single nation, why stop there. Chances are you’ll have a few years left in your save and you’ll have made a young team. Swap nation and try to beat your existing national team in the next World Cup. Who knows, maybe you could even face them in the final, your new boys vs your original youth squad.
