Pachamama (‘Mother Earth’) is a new Latin American ensemble that will dazzle and inspire you with stories both familiar and strange, that speak of love, longing and revolution. Their music weaves the textures, colours and cultural richness of Latin America, and also its fragile politics and environment, into beautiful songs. Pachamama was formed when Canberra-based Cicilia Kemezys and Jorge Bontes expanded their successful duo to include Marisol Pacheco and Tony Hunter. After playing music with each other in some form or another for many years, this is the first time all four have merged their impressive musical talents to create a colourful and original take on the traditional music of South America. The ensemble are all accomplished singers, musicians and composers with a shared love of Latin American folk music. They explore the possibilities of four-part vocal harmony and bring to the table all kinds of exotic multi-instrumental combinations including Flute, Charango, Mandolin, Bouzouki, Guitar, Cuatro, the Cuban Tres and Percussion. Pachamama (Madre Tierra) es un nuevo grupo de Música Latino Americana que deslumbrará e inspirará con historias familiares y extrañas que hablan de amor, nostalgia y revolución. Su música teje las texturas, colores y riqueza cultural de Latino America, y también la fragilidad de su política y medio ambiente en hermosas canciones. Pachamama se formó cuando Cicilia Kemezys y Jorge Bontes, ambos artistas basados en Canberra, expanden su exitoso dúo incluyendo a Marisol Pacheco y Tony Hunter. Después de hacer música juntos por muchos años de una forma u otra, ésta es la primera vez en que los cuatro han fusionado sus impresionantes talentos musicales para crear una toma colorida y original de la música tradicional y contemporánea de Latino América. El conjunto son todos consumados cantantes músicos y compositores, quienes comparten el amor hacia la música de Latino América.
