Ken Block's 1977 Ford F150 "Hoonitruck" 914 HP 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 Build Project

Ken Block's 1977 Ford F150 "Hoonitruck" 914 HP 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 Build Project Rally driver Ken Block, famed for his wild Gymkhana videos, has finally turned to Ford's most popular vehicle, the F-150 pickup. But this is no ordinary F-150. Based on a 1977 Ford pickup, this "Hoonitruck" is an absolutely wild creation with a huge list of performance modifications that make it entirely appropriate for Block's antics. Only the aluminum body shell, which is said to use the same grade of aluminum as today's F-150, is really recognizable as a vintage Ford truck. The exterior is otherwise festooned with all manner of graphics, decals, and add-ons to denote the Hoonitruck as something special. Underneath, it's basically a new creation handled by tuner Detroit Speed Engineering. A twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6, reportedly lifted from Ford's GT Le Mans racing car, is underhood, producing 914 horsepower and 702 lb-ft of torque. All that power is routed through all four wheels, which wear Toyo Proxes ST III tires wrapped around 20-inch Turbomac wheels. Modernizing the truck a bit are some features from the current F-150, including remote start and a backup camera with trailer-hitch integration. The interior is otherwise a stripped-out affair with racing seats and a roll cage, as you'd expect from such a machine. Built by: Detroit Speed Inc. 185 McKenzie Rd.
