The stay at Jakha village is a memorable one. The local family invited me to their cosy kitchen and we had a long chat as they cooked dal (pulse). The wood was used to cook the tasty meals and it also helped the kitchen to remain warm. The construction of the homestay was mostly comprised of wood, mud and block of stones. It was such a humbling experience as the daughter and mother duo narrated the hardships of the local community. The village has its own interesting folklore. The mother was sick so we gave her the basic medicines. We were so glad to know as the following day she was much better. JAKHA is also known as the Hanging Village because of its unique position v at the utmost edge of the mountain making it appear to hanging through the cliff. The village has a local temple and a school. A highly recommended place to stay overnight.
