If there was any singular point within the Mega Man franchise where the original NES titles would start blending together, Mega Man 5 would probably be considered the start point for it. By the time we got to Mega Man 5, it can be safe to understand that the franchise, while expanding in some aspects on the gameplay, is simply more so just more Mega Man. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing when you're in the game itself, it does muddy the waters in terms of trying to look back on it when the surrounding games tend to share a lot in common with it. I think Mega Man 5 is the peak of that issue for me, personally, but on the whole in terms of gameplay, it's still as tight and reasonably challenging as it should be and with more graphical updates that really start to show what the NES/Famicom hardware was really capable of producing at the time. #games #retrogameplay #90sgaming #gaming #retrogaming #longplay
