Intensive PT with Cerebral Palsy: Nick's Story

Young adults, like Nick, with cerebral palsy and other neuro-muscular disorders, seek out Euro-Peds National Center for Intensive Therapies to learn new skills, improve mobility, increase self-esteem and independence. Located in Pontiac, Michigan, Euro-Peds opened as North America’s first intensive pediatric physical therapy center in 1999 for for seeking a specialized therapies, including the use of the Universal Exercise Unit and patented suit therapy, to optimize motor training and significantly improve motor skills. Specialized programs feature intensive bouts of individualized, one-on-one physical therapy with appointments ranging from 1.5 - 4 hours for up to 5 days per week over several weeks. Local patients often visit 2 - 3 times per week over several months. Thousands of patients with cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, spina bifida and a variety of other gross motor disorders throughout the U.S. and beyond are part of the Euro-Peds community. Each patient benefits from a team of PTs, PTAs and aides to keep sessions fun. Follow-up home exercise programs with photos, video and directions also are part of each session.
