This 1977 Monte Carlo Landau was Rolling Sculpture, and the last of the Huge GM Midsized Coupes

And for a lot of Americans, it was exactly their thing. As personified by the exaggerated lines of this Monte Carlo, Americans wanted cars that were big, showy, and drove well - all for a fair price. Monte Carlo hit the target, and sold very well. These were the last of the Colonnade coupes, and even though they were considered intermediate in size, they were longer than the new full-sized B-Body sedans from GM. Body on frame, V8 power, expanses of hood, vinyl roofs, and yards of velour were the order of the day, and GM delivered. In-depth review and test drive by Bill of Curious Cars.
