DYA717 Japan Railpass & Okinawa BURA-BURA July 12, 2024 [Toyoko Inn Kobe-eki Kita-guchi; Fukuoka; Hakata; JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Hakata Chuo; Canal City; yatai] This trip is a laid-back Railpass BURA-BURA look-see around Japan and a quick trip to Okinawa. 6:30 a.m. breakfast at the Toyoko Inn Kobe-eki Kita-guchi. Yahoo.com says it will be 75-84 degrees today. I got on the 9:20 a.m. local train to Himeji Station, a ride of about 40-minutes. Then transferred to the shinkansen heading to Kagoshima-chuo. Got off at Hakata Station in Fukuoka after about 2 hours. Yahoo.com says it will be 72-86 degrees today in Fukuoka. I checked into JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Hakata Chuo at 2 p.m.; $202/nite; breakfast not included; yikes, not like the other rates I’ve had so far. I went back to the train station for an afternoon snack. Then back to the hotel for a break. At 4 p.m., I walked down the street to look for the yatais along the river. Got there early as they were setting up. It was pretty hot so I decided to go into Canal City complex to look for a restaurant. Had an evening snack and called it a day.
