Howard Lee (born August 20, 1999), is a Taiwanese singer and songwriter. In 2019, he uploaded his first single " Loser " （窩囊廢） on YouTube and later released the first album " Diamond In The Rough " in 2020. His work rapidly gained him recognition online as well as on mainstream publications. People were amazed by his alternative style and unique voice and were curious about his mystique identity. Growing up listening to soul, blues, funk, indie rock, and post-hardcore, Howard Lee started song writing in 17. Due to his early exposure in a wide variety of music, he can easily combine respective genres in his creation. Rock music, especially, is what inspired him to become a singer. He mentioned that other artists such as BMTH, ONE OK ROCK and John Mayer have deeply influenced his music senses. He is also a vocalist in two bands which perform in totally different styles: "FORMOZA" and "Mono" since 2018.His multiple identities show the audience that his creation is not restricted by any genre. Howard Lee’s first album "Diamond In The Rough" analyzes himself from his perspectives on love, interpersonal relationships, inner conflicts, and anxiety. The genre of the album covers R&B, pop, electronics, and Melody Trap. Howard hopes to find a balance between the pop music market and his ideals and to find his own position by trying different styles of music. This album was also nominated for the 32nd Golden Melody Award as Best Newcomer in 2021, and Howard also won more opportunities to showcase for major music performances because of this album. Furthermore, in the 12nd Golden Indie Music Awards, his band FORMOZA with the album “ Super Baby Format” was nominated for Best Band, Best New Artist, and Beat New Album in the same year. Even though the feedback from this album exceeded expectations, Howard's attitude has not changed at all. He always retains the original imagination of music. What values ​​most to him is still the music itself. "We can't predict the future.
