How To Connect an XLR Microphone to an iPhone 15 Pro Max - Example with Blackmagic Camera App & Shure SM7B In this video I’m showing one way of connecting and recording an XLR microphone to an iPhone 15 Pro Max. This includes using a USB audio interface, or what some call a USB sound card, a Shure SM7B for my dynamic microphone example, paired with a Triton Fethead inline preamplifier and I’m also using my trusty Sennheiser ME64 as my example of a condenser microphone. I’m also using the Blackmagic Camera App. Which allows the recording of an external audio source, simultaneously with its video recording. This video is a basic general overview of a workflow that can be used as the basis for a number of setups. You can use other USB audio interfaces that are class compliant, along with many other video apps and also audio only and music production apps, along with many different dynamic and condenser microphones. Here’s some of the stuff that I use in the video and I list more of my usual audio and video equipment further down in this description. But don’t forget, you don’t have to use exactly what I use, just use my setup as a starting point for your own setup.
