Buss Company 8" jointer - head blueing contact area test

In this video I do the head blueing test and contact area adjustment for my Buss Company 8" jointer. I used a blue sharpie vs the Dykem marking fluid, as I had a sharpie and did not have the marking fluid. And could not see spending that much on marking fluid I probably only would ever use for this single task. I did look up after the recording and the ISO-100 is supposed to be the same as sae-30 wt oil....so maybe the issue is I need even thicker than 30wt. The 10w30 I had initially used was from a quart that I originally had in my car when I moved to California back in 1995, then moved to the garage and was just sitting around, so maybe it got thicker over time just sitting in the closed bottle...all I know is that it is far thicker at a 65F temp than the brand new ISO-100 (30 wt) oil....so I have to check with the one woodworking forum and ask for more guidance or ideas. And/or I may just need to add some extra felt on the outside or some such to try and retain the oil vs it just dripping out everywhere.
