Student Council Positions RANKED

Let's rank all of the Student Council positions at Richmond Hill High School, all the pros and cons, and what position may be best for you - Enjoy! Add me on Instagram: @frianfrias NOTE: THIS IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH RHHS STUCO AND IS ONLY MY PERSONAL OPINION. THIS IS ONLY FOR FUN. NOT OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED AS FACT. President: Pros - Most decorated member of Student Council, best for resume, most powerful Cons - Most accountable for errors, most stress, most difficult to win Vice President: Pros - 2nd most decorated member of Student Council with less responsibilities Cons - 2nd most accountable for errors, must attend the same number of meeting as President, probably wanted to run for President but wasn't good enough Treasurer: Pros - Officially recognized in the constitution as the 3rd most decorated member, good for financial resumes, easy workload Cons - Not a very interesting role Secretary: Pros - Officially recognized in the constitution as the 4th most decorated member, good for any resume, easy role Cons - Cannot zone out during meetings or else they will be responsible for poor record-keeping Social Convenor(s): Pros - Plan the 2 largest StuCo events of the year which are Semi-Formal and Carnival/Relay for Life Cons - Much pressure, will always be faced with heavy criticism Minister of Publicity: Pros - Control the PA System every morning, be the voice of the school and sometimes the face as well while emceeing/hosting events Cons - Stage fright and errors are also heard by the entire school Minister of Media Affairs: Pros - Create most/all Instagram posts and videos, free to live out their vision for @rhhs_stuco Cons - Heavy workload, must always create a post for each Student Council activity, must oversee the dms of the Instagram page Minister of External Affairs: Pros - Manage the clubs Cons - Deal with many complaints/inquiries from 70+ club Presidents, does more treasury work than the Treasurer themselves Webmaster(s) Pros - Recognized as the creators of the School Website rhhsstuco.ca Cons - Must handle all technology necessities of StuCo, website is not always active Grade 12 Representative(s): Pros - Most members on StuCo are already in Grade 12 so their workload is lightened Cons - Cannot run for any new positions afterwards Grade 11 Representative(s): Pros - Won just in time to have a chance at running for President or Vice President Cons - Probably won't win President of Vice President if they only just won Grade 11 Representative Grade 10 Representative(s): Pros - Won a spot on Student Council early enough to start building their journey to the top Cons - Just barely missed being Grade 9 Representative and there is likely still numerous inquiries they'll face Grade 9 Representative(s): Pros - Early publicity for the incoming grade, Only one of two students who can win all 4 years (4 if you include mascots) Cons - Most amount of work for any Grade Rep, can be intimidating being the youngest newcomers on StuCo Mascot(s): Pros - Easy workload, if you're a furry then you'll probably like this...but our mascot is a raider so it's not a furry animal so I don't know how furries will feel about that (furries comment down below your thoughts) Cons - Wins no election, least decorated member out of them all, either listed as the worst executive of the worst member of StuCo overall Executive Advisor: I did not list this position in the video because to my knowledge it has only existed once, and it only existed because Bill Liu won Student Trustee so they made a new role for him on StuCo rather than letting him run for President (because they thought it would be too much work, even though Allen Lu from Bayview was allowed to). Honourary Member: I also did not list this position in the video because as far as I know, this position has never existed at Richmond Hill High School. However, if it has then it is simply another term for "We had no legitimate position to give you because you would need to win an election for that, but we want you to be on StuCo anyways so here take this less validated but still technically official position". Minister of Conference: This position was discontinued after 2016-2017. I do not even know what their role was. English Language Learning Representative: At the time of making this video, this role does not exist yet. It should come into existence in September of 2021. Equity Representative: At the time of making this video, there is no Equity Representative on Richmond Hill High School's Student Council. *All Student Council members are required to attend weekly meetings and contribute to all the activities of the Student Council. This video merely compared the base rights and responsibilities of the bare roles of each Student Council member, according to the constitution. Everyone's individual workload and contributions vary from person to person. This video could never accurately reflect the profile of every person that has served in each role.
