LEARNING METHOD TO KNOWING YOUR SCALES - Saxophone & All Instruments In this video I go through my process to approaching practicing scales. You can apply this to any instrument from saxophone to ukulele, piano to cello. It is a way of getting rid of that sensation of overwhlenmess that comes from trying to learn to many things at the same time. Developing a learning method is important so you can understand what works for you and what doesn't. Example: Take all 12 major keys. Learn the first 7 keys (up to 3 sharps and flats). Practice them until you feel comfortable, in control...(and a bit bored as well). Then move on to keys from 5 to 7 sharps and flats. Always mark down on your practice notebook the scales you struggle the most and dedicate more time to those. Can't play in Ab major but can play in C major?
