Speech, Language and Swallowing in Huntington Disease

This instructive session will educate individuals affected by HD and caregivers alike on speech, language and swallowing experiences and best practices. Led by a Speech Language Pathologist, attendees will learn about and view normal and impaired swallowing and what this means for mealtime; how medication can affect swallowing; speech and language changes in HD; and general safe swallowing guidelines for mealtime. Attendees should feel confident in managing expectations, adapting to speech and swallowing changes and ensuring mealtime is safe but enjoyable and appetizing.
