Inside The $30 Million Embraer Legacy 650E

Inside The $30 Million Embraer Legacy 650E Private Jet 0:00 - Intro The Embraer Legacy 650E can trace its routes back to the Legacy 600, a derivative of the ERJ 145 family. In 2016 Embraer announced further improvements to the Legacy 650, with a synthetic vision system and autothrottle as standard, and a re-designed three-zone interior. This new and improved 650 is the 650E, which entered service in 2017. Here is everything you need to know about the Embraer Legacy 650E, stay with us till the end of the video to learn more about this gigantic aircraft. 0:55 - Cabin The plane has the largest-in-class cabin which provides unsurpassed comfort for up to 14 passengers over three cabin zones, complete with broadband connectivity and worldwide phone service. With the largest galley, lavatory, and baggage compartment in its class, fully berthing premium leather seats, and impressively low cabin noise, the cabin of the Legacy 650E allows passengers to work, dine or rest in complete comfort. With a generous cabin length of 49.8 feet or 15.18 meters, width of 6.9 feet or 2.10 meters, and a stand-up height of 6 feet 1.83 meters, there is plenty of room to walk around during a long flight. The generous proportions of the 650E continue all throughout the cabin, into the lavatory, and ample baggage capacity of 286 cubic feet or 8 cubic meters. The Legacy 650E improves upon the original Legacy 600 and 650 with newly restyled seats throughout the cabin for maximum comfort, having enough space to comfortably carry up to 14 passengers. As you would expect with any private jet, there is a multitude of interior configurations that span the three-cabin zone interior. Options include a conference table area, two divans, and a forward crew lavatory. The Legacy 650E’s cabin altitude never exceeds 6,000 feet or 1,830 meters and maintains a consistently quiet cabin, perfect for long flights. The Legacy 650E features internet connectivity and the latest generation in full HD in-flight entertainment, with Honeywell’s Ovation Select entertainment and cabin management system. 3:32 - Cockpit The Legacy 650E is equipped with Honeywell Primus Elite avionics organized over five LCD displays. Two iPads with mounting systems are now available in the cockpit as electronic flight bags. Included in the suite are a synthetic vision system and autothrottle, both now standard equipment, XM weather capability, and more. Additionally, a brake-by-wire system controls temperature monitoring and has anti-skid protection. Most importantly, the panel gives pilots of the 650E great safety utilities, including Honeywell’s SmartLanding and SmartRunway. Both are designed to cut down on the chance of an accident on the runway, which remains one of the most common types of business aircraft accidents. But the new displays do much more than that. They give pilots graphic satellite weather. Jeppesen terminal-procedures charts display very nicely on the dual MFDs. There’s also vertical navigation integrated into the system that can fly vertical profiles calculated by the FMS that include both speed and altitude restrictions. These can be entered into the FMS, but they abide by the airplane’s operating limitations. 5:15 - Engine and Performance The 650E is powered by two rear-mounted Rolls-Royce AE 3007A2 engines, with each one producing 9,020 lbf of thrust. These engines are able to push the 650E to a maximum cruise speed of 440 knots and up to a maximum cruising altitude of 41,000 feet or 12.5 kilometers with an average hourly fuel burn of 300 gallons or 1,135 liters per Hour. The Legacy 650E has a maximum range of 3,900 nautical miles, which is 4,500 miles or 7,223 kilometers, making it capable of flying non-stop from London to New York or New Delhi. The Legacy 650E has the ability to take off in just 5,741 feet or 1,750 meters and has a landing distance of 2,346 feet or 715 meters, all while maintaining a maximum take-off weight of 53,572 lbs or 24,300 kilograms. 6:53 - Charter Cost The Legacy 650E is estimated to cost $5,900 per flight hour. 7:13 - Purchase Cost The base list price for a Legacy 650E is $26 million. A pre-owned Legacy 650E is, of course, harder to find than the older Legacy 650. A pre-owned Legacy 650 will cost approximately $15 million and a Legacy 650E will cost around $5 million more, taking to price to around $20 million used. 7:45 - Operating Cost The estimated annual fixed cost for operating the Legacy 650E is $650,000, and the hourly variable cost for operating the Legacy 650E is estimated at $3,270. 8:45 - Outro Aviation Base is your favorite source for your daily dose of aviation videos: private jet reviews, as well as private jet interior, both cabin, and cockpit, along with turboprops, commercial planes, and helicopters.
