PICK is on a mission to #stopKI. KI (kernicterus) is a brain injury from excessive levels of bilirubin from newborn jaundice (yellowing of a babies skin). Kernicterus is preventable with testing, screening and treatment, yet it is devastating when it occurs. It can include whole spectrum of disability including multiple movement disorders, visual disabilities, hearing loss, GI impairment, sleep issues, enamel forming improperly on baby teeth etc.. PICK is a parent run non-profit dedicated to education and prevention of KI as well as support and research for families affected by KI.
