It's hard to compare the style and culture of the two because they are so different. Go to Tucson for Mexican food, south west Mexican American culture, and of course University of Arizona is much cooler than Arizona State. Muuuuuuuuch cooler. If you're smart you catch a show at the Rialto or Fox theater and grab some great food around Historic 4th St. There are lots of 2nd hand stores of 4th street and if you're not careful, you might just come out covered in teal, with boots and a cowboy hat. Make sure to spend some time in El Presidio for the main reason of eating at El Charro. El Charro has made me rethink Mexican food altogether. I'm from Portland and live in Seattle so I won't even compare.
