Hinson, MD, PhD, Director, Movement Disorders Program Medical University of South Carolina, Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence Bios: Dr. Vanessa Hinson Vanessa Hinson, MD, PhD, is professor of neurology and director of the Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and chief of Neurology at the Ralph H Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston. She earned her medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Hamburg, Germany. She completed her residency at MUSC, and fellowship training in movement disorders at Rush University in Chicago. Dr. Hinson's special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease, as well as research in the field of cognitive impairment and non-invasive brain stimulation for PD.
