Let’s talk about CAGED Shapes & TRIADS

Note: By coincidence, Guthrie Trapp just released a video explaining this same exact concept. He is a very amazing, highly acclaimed guitarist out of Nashville, so I would definitely check his video out as he may explain things better than me. If I could know half as much as him, I’d consider myself upper echelon in the world of guitarists, so subscribe to him if you haven’t:    • Triads Are Crucial And This Is Why!   If you’re still with me, thank you! Here we go. It can be confusing when I throw out terms like “A shape” when in no way does my finger placement appear to be in an “A shape”. But in actuality, I am in that shape, I’m just isolating the notes down to a triad, 3 notes that constitute a chord. Watch the video and I'll try my best to explain how these CAGED shapes correspond to their respective triads. If you enjoyed the lesson and found it useful, please like and subscribe! That's all I ask; I'm not selling anything here, I just love this stuff. CHAPTERS: 00:00 - Intro 00:12 - What the video is about 00:58 - G Chord distilled down to the first triad (First Inversion) 03:02 - Second Inversion 03:30 - "C" & "D" shapes are a two for one! 04:21 - Root position triad "A" shape (another example below) 04:48 - Skip the "G" shape for now 05:19 - Why do I need to know this? 06:31 - "A" Shape 07:00 - Outro
